Case study: Gaming company AST

Gaming company AST(傲世堂), whose offices are based in the IAPM mall in central Shanghai, wanted to combine the acoustic comfort with their office design. ZENFEEL supplied a series of customized Polyester Acoustic Panels according to the designer’s requirements, to match with the atmosphere of the whole office while adding acoustic comfort. 

In these three pictures we can see special Groove Cut acoustic panels, some in grey with vertical lines, and others in a blue and white checkerboard formation. In line with WELL, these are sound reducing surfaces that reduce the level of reverberation. In these cases, they were particularly appropriate given that the rooms also contained large glass windows, which cause high reverberation.

Here we see two printed acoustic panels. These are ideal for achieving acoustic control while seamlessly blending into the environment. They were chosen to match the playful aesthetic of the gaming company.

Here, in the open office space, where internally generated noise is at its highest levels, ZENFEEL’s acoustic panels were discreetly integrated into the walls. Without looking closely, one might never notice them.

In the meeting room pictured above, the walls are clad with hard wood surfaces, which absorb very little sound, bouncing much of it back into the room. The groove carved acoustic panels with a very discreet carved pattern – in beige color on the pictures above – covering the entire non-clad wall space were therefore a significant improvement to reverberation.
